This is for you Terminator completists out there — and for VHS fans in general.
An ultra-rare, sealed, HBO/Cannon promo made in 1984 or 1985 to promote Terminator and a few other films.
Of special note is the rare “Play for Keeps” branding. A Terminator VHS with this branding — used only in connection with a few movies — was the highest-selling VHS of all time, fetching around $25,000-$30,000 at auction.
Thats a lot! But just think — even the guy who bought that is still probably missing this rare — and sealed! — Terminator-related tape, lol.
There are currently no records of any sale of this tape as far as I could find. As an avid collector, I’ve seen similar, later tapes, but never one promoting The Terminator.
Check pics for condition. This is an NOS item, still in its plastic seal. However, the seal does have a couple of small holes, and one upper corner of the box is worn from storage.
PLEASE NOTE: This tape contains no complete films.
